Photographing the London Marathon for Saint Francis Hospice

On Sunday I photographed the London Marathon for Saint Francis Hospice – for Pam the CEO it was her first ever visit to the Marathon where they had 40 runners for Saint Francis.  Lauren and Heather from the events team organised everything including a very vivid orange Saint Francis gazebo which we instantly saw from Tower of London Tube Station.

The St Francis Gazebo (early in the day - it got very crowded later)

The St Francis Gazebo a great position at the 23 mile mark overlooking the Tower.

Marathon Jazz

The atmosphere was brilliant.  We were beside a French jazz band and the weather kept fine for the most part.

Running for St Francis? Alas No - Wilson Kipsang

There was so much orange which are the Hospice colours it was hard to catch who was who.  Pam got very excited as one of the first runners wore orange T shirt and trainers and She was shouting for ‘one of ours’ only to find he was Wilson Kipsang the eventual winner!

Our 40 runners did fantastically well and they hope will have raised over£60,000 for St Francis.  A big thank you and very well done.
