On Sunday I accompanied the Havering Float and Saint Francis HospiceFundraising Team on the New Years Day Parade in Central London.
We first went to the Cumberland Hotel Marble Arch for a Briefing – It was an interesting experience to encounter inter-galactical participants in the Parade.
Then onto Berkley Square for disembarkation – a passing Sooth Sayer assured us that the weather would remain fine.
The atmosphere along the route was amazing, with the Saint Francis Hospice Fundraisers collecting over £950.
There were nearly 100 floats in the Parade the largest of its type in the world, with many participants flying in from all over the United States.
Cllr Melvin Wallace the Mayor of Havering managed to drum up huge support from the crowd.
At the end there were some very tired but happy members of the Saint Francis Hospice Fund Raising Team.
