Katie and Rob's Wedding Photographs Gaynes Park Barns

On Saturday I had the great pleasure to photograph Katy and Rob's Wedding at the beautiful Gaynes Park Barns near Epping.The guests arrived by public transport - on time, which is more than could be said for Rob who made a last minute dash.The grounds of Gaynes were particularly stunning as Katie and her bridesmaids walked down the gravel path to meet her waiting Dad and future Husband.The ceremony was witnessed by both Katie and Rob's Mums.Following the ceremony the newly married couple went for a walk in the grounds of Gaynes Park before greeting their waiting guests.Following the Wedding Breakfast the speeches were held with Rob looking nervously on.The cake proved to be a huge success with both Katie and Rob giving it their seal of approval.The first dance was performed with perfection Rob (Travolta) and Katie (Thurman) performed the classic made famous in the 1994 Quenton Tarantino film - Pulp Fiction.
As night falls Gaynes Park loses none of its magic as guests talk outside under the covered barn.
The "Dream Team" ensuring that Rob and Katie's day passed without a hitch were Mikaela from Gaynes Park (a big personal thank you for looking after us all), Designer Flowers by Stacey Stevens, Andrew Morgan as Toastmaster, John Rose videographer and my good friend Richard Palmer providing the music with the Classic Nomad Disco.

Layer Marney Tower Wedding - Clare and Pat's pre-wedding shoot

Yesterday I met up with Clare and Pat for their pre-wedding photographs at Layer Marney Tower Essex.
Clare and Pat are having their reception there in May. It was lovely seeing them both again after just over a year from when they chose Essex Wedding Photographers - CourtOnCamera to photograph their special day.

By a unique co-incidence Layer Marney Tower featured on Channel 4's the Time Team, Henry VIII's lost palaces, that evening.

Georgina and Nick's Wedding Spains Hall

This Saturday I had the great pleasure of Photographing Georgina and Nick's wedding at Spains Hall near Finchingfield in Essex.

A surprise vintage Jaguar was provided by Georgina's parents for the newly Married Couple to ride in after the ceremony - the schedule was secretly changed to accommodate the car drive - all parties being sworn to secrecy.

After the ceremony we went for a walk in the beautiful gardens for which Spains Hall is famed.

My suit jacket (washable Marks and Spencer) as per usual came in handy and was used for Georgina to sit on on several occasions during the afternoon. The daffodils were just appearing providing a photo opportunity not to be missed - once again the Jacket was utilised.

During the evening I was able to use my Lowel ID light to photograph Georgina and Nick in front of the Stable's where the reception was held. The light was directed by Georgina's Father.

Roger and Bev's Wedding and Wedding Photographs Down Hall Hotel Essex

Last Saturday Essex Wedding Photographers CourtOnCamera had the pleasure of photographing Roger and Bev's Wedding at the Down Hall Hotel Essex.
Roger being a keen cyclist insisted in providing his own transport to the venue. This Essex Wedding Photographer became a sports photographer for the morning.
Their vows were exchanged in the magnificent Prior Room of the Hotel.Despite pouring down with rain the weather brightened up enabling the Wedding Photographs at Down Hall to be taken outside.The evening's entertainment was provided by Roger and Bev performing an exhibition dance.

On Saturday Wedding Photographers in Essex CourtOnCamera met Kristy and Tom for their Pre-Wedding Photographs at the beautiful Down Hall Hotel near Hatfield Heath.Kristy and Tom exchange their vows towards the end of next month - I just adore photographing weddings at Christmas.Not all has gone smoothly though - it is less than 4 weeks since a riding mishap resulted in a broken nose for Kristy.

Reportage Wedding Photography in Essex, Formal Wedding Photography in Essex or Contemporary Wedding Photography in Essex?

I was recently asked as a Wedding Photographer in Essex "What are my objectives when photographing a wedding?" After a moments thought I replied "to have fun". I then went on to elaborate "the formals have to be done (your Mum might have something to say if I didn't), but I get them over as quickly as possible - 10 minutes on average). I like about 30 minutes "playtime" where we have some fun - I also like to talk and interact with people!
If I see anything I like I photograph it - Fay who's wedding I photographed at the Whitehall Hotel Broxted chose the above photograph as a favourite (amongst many) "we are in the church and doing the 'you can kiss the bride' bit and you've captured the Vicar behind us looking at his watch and then smiling at us"

Formal Wedding Photography, or as I prefer to call it Classical Wedding Photography, is totally controlled and in it's purest form when undertaken by a Master could be described as Fine Art.

Reportage Wedding Photography involves no visible interaction between the Photographer, Wedding Party and Guests, there are however only a handful of professional photographers worldwide that are truly masters of this genre. Many Professional Photographic Organisations record the highest number of complaints from dissatisfied Brides with this style of photography

What of Essex Wedding Photographers CourtOnCamera? I like to cover all bases, but I don't forget this is your day not a photo shoot - this is often referred to as a contemporary style.

Weddings Down Hall Country House Hotel - Roger and Bev's Pre-Wedding Shoot

Last week I met Roger and Bev at the Down Hall Country House Hotel for their pre-wedding shoot and planning meeting.Both are keen cyclists and runners, so much so that Roger is going for a cycle with his friends on the morning of his wedding in January - I fully intend to capture their arrival at Down Hall - whatever the weather, but alas will not be accompanying them on the ride! Essex Wedding Photographers CourtOnCamera prefer to keep their feet firmly on the ground unless of course they are photographing from the top of a 6' ladder!

The English Toastmasters Association - Kevin Goodwin

On Thursday I had the pleasure of meeting my good friend Richard Palmer - Toastmaster (below) of the English Toastmasters Association together with new member Kevin Goodwin.
Kevin had travelled down from his home in Rochdale Lancashire for the meeting.

As many Essex Wedding Photographers will agree the value of a Toastmaster during your special day cannot be overestimated - with member toastmasters of the English Toastmasters Association being the very best.

Steve and Sarah's Wedding - Gaynes Park Barns Wedding Venue

Last Friday CourtOnCamera Wedding Photographers Essex had the great pleasure of photographing Steve and Sarah's Wedding at the Gaynes Park Barns Wedding Venue near Epping.Steve was of course on time - not a day to be late!
The ceremony was held in the Orangery.In the evening a full group shot was taken outside the covered barn - in the Dark! My good friend Richard Palmer of the Classic Nomad Disco (who provided the sounds for the evening) held my ladder.For the first dance - an elegant display of Ballroom dancing was provided by the happy couple.

An Essex Wedding Photographer, Gary Fong Lightsphere - and that thing on top of my flash gun

You have all seen it on top of my flashgun when I am photographing weddings in Essex. This is the guy responsible - Gary Fong. One of the worlds top wedding photographers (his current fee is in excess of $120,000) he paid a flying visit to the UK having lectured at Photokina

Also with Gary was his new wife Melissa "Missy"

Just in case you were wondering who took their wedding photos - well it wasn't Joe Buissink (photographer to the stars - inc JoLo) - he was the officiant, nor was it Denis Reggie (another great) - he was the best man. Other photographers there were were Bob Davis (who just shot Eva Longoria's wedding ), Mike Colon, Kristen Alexander, David Beckstead, Brian Kramer, Dane Sanders, Nathan Holritz, Robbie Gantt and Lauren Chapman, and Pictage's CEO Jason Kiefer - no they didn't shoot it.

The answer was the phenomenal Jessica Claire and Jen Bebb. (American Photo named Jen as one of the top ten wedding photographers in the world).

Now next time you see me with the Gary Fong lightsphere you will know it is not an ice cream cone, milk bottle or specimen jar.

The Top BIPP and MPA Essex Wedding Photographers Gathering

Last night the great and good of Wedding Photographers in Essex including myself Dave Court of CourtOnCamera, Gavin Woollard, David Islip, Kevin Pengelly and Len Dance gathered at the Mayland Golfclub Romford to listen to Classical Wedding Photographer of the Year - Peter Bristo MBE deliver a presentation. All are members of the BIPP or MPA.

Perhaps for me the most interesting aspect was his work as an Army Photographer - including being shot in the head and surviving by a sniper in Bosnia.

Back to Wedding Photographers Essex - This Saturday CourtOnCamera are photographing Fay and Jame's Wedding at the Whitehall Hotel Broxted.

CourtOnCamera - Widget and Wedding Photographers Essex

Well not quite - and still one of the premier Wedding Photographers in Essex, but this week saw me photographing very hi tech transmitters and receivers made by Radio-Tech in Harlow for the remote monitoring of Gas, Water, Electricity and many other sources. Radio-Tech are pioneers in the field of Wireless Technology.

Steve and Anita's Pre Wedding Photographs Marygreen Manor Brentwood

On Sunday morning I met Steve and Anita at the Marygreen Manor Hotel and Wedding Venue Brentwood for their pre-wedding photographs and planning meeting, they are getting married here in September.
As Steve is a professional photographer the conversation naturally moved backwards and forward between Cameras and Weddings especially when Anita's eyes started to glaze over.

Gareth and Carenna Pre-Wedding Shoot

One of the delights about being an Essex Wedding Photographer is that one catches a glimpse of the sheer scale of the organisation and planning undertaken by the Brides, Grooms and most importantly Mums'.
This week I met Gareth, Carenna and Ann (Carenna's Mum) for the planning meeting and pre-wedding shoot at their home in Chingford. Carenna and Gareth are getting married later this month at Boreham House, with my good friend Richard Palmer as the Toastmaster.
