Cindy and Stuart’s Wedding at Hatfield Heath and Gaynes Park
On the last Sunday in January this year I had the pleasure to have been asked to photograph Cindy and Stuarts Wedding which took place at the Holy Trinity Church Hatfield Heath with the Wedding Breakfast at Gaynes Park near Epping.
The wedding was conducted by the Rev Stewart Gibbs. The guests were thoroughly scrutinised by Cindy and Stuart when the Rev Gibbs came to the part in the ceremony establishing “Just Cause” – There were no objections.
A large part of Cindy’s family flew over from Germany to join her on this special day and introduced a traditional German custom whereby a blessing took place by candle light.
Following the ceremony they drove to the beautiful Gaynes Park for their Wedding Breakfast in a Rolls Royce provided by Fairfax and Bond.
Cindy and Stuart then made their entrance on foot through the ornamental gates into the Walled Garden to greet the assembled guests. Cindy looked stunning in a her dress by San Patrick, tiara by Freya Designs and carrying flowers by Stacey Stevens.
Chocolate (reflecting Cindy’s love of) featured throughout the theme for the day – each table being named after Cindy’s favourite type, with the favours ( Bars of Chocolate with each individual guests name on) provided by Tailored Chocolates.
Following the meal and speeches we came the Cake Quality Control. The cake made by Nikki Styles Cakes passed with flying colours.
From there into the First Dance played and sung by Danny Mills who had entertained the guests throughout the Wedding Breakfast.
As a final note: A wonderful day was had by all, but I could not help reflecting on how the wheel of life revolves. One of Identical Twins – guests just 6 weeks old is held lovingly by Cindy reminding us all that these memories are not just for ourselves, or even our Children, but our Children’s Children.
Yesterday I met up with Cindy and Stuart at the Boutique Wedding Venue of Gaynes Park near Epping Essex for their Pre-Wedding Photographs and planning meeting.
Despite the weather being slightly foggy and damp it did not dampen their excitement as we walked around the gardens planning the photographs for their big day in just 6 weeks time.
Last Saturday I was delighted to have been invited to photograph the Wedding of Sam to Gary at the beautiful Boutique Wedding Venue of Gaynes Park near Epping.
The entrance to Gaynes Park is stunning even though the day was dull and overcast.
Sam’s Wedding Dress was by Maggie Sottero….and her shoes by Jimmy Choo
Sams Father and Sister provided an escort for the first part of the walk which preceded the formal entrance into the beautiful walled Garden at Gaynes Park. The young ringbearer carried the rings secured in a “Lego Brick” box. Followed up the gravel path by a Pageboy and Flowergirls.
The Ceremony which was conducted by the Epping Registrar’s took place in the Orangery.
Moving on to the Wedding Breakfast, the cake cutting took place before the speeches – It passed quality control with flying colours.
Having originally planned to “wing it” Gary gave a heartfelt and sensitive speech composed during the Wedding Breakfast.
As night fell Sam and Gary were able to enjoy the cool night air in front of the Threshing Barn at Gaynes Park.

This Friday Saturday and Sunday (11-13 June 2010) will see the bi-annual Flower Festival being held at All Saints Church Theydon Garnon. This ancient church may already be familiar with many couples who have married there and gone on to celebrate at Gaynes Park afterwards, but the link with this Church and Gaynes Park goes back for over 120 years.
There is a memorial on the east wall of the north trancept to Willian Swaine Chisenhale-Marsh of Gaynes Park (High Sheriff of Essex in 1892) and a stained glass windows depicting his Arms. Sadly too there is a memorial brass in the nave to Captain Atherton Harold Chisenhale Marsh of Gaynes Park, 9th (Queens Royal) Lancers - killed in WW1 on the 28th September near Ypres by an artillery shell.
A further link exists between All Saints and Gaynes Park (although many people are not aware of it, but see the fruits of his work every day in the surrounding farmland). Richard Clay is not only the manager of Gaynes Park Farms but is actively involved in maintining the fabric of the Church whilst his wife Ann is the Verger.
If you have a spare moment I would recommend a visit to the festival (Friday and Saturday 10am-5.30pm Sunday 12 noon - 5.30pm). On Sunday I have been assigned Car Park duties (taking a break from photographing widgets and weddings), but as a special treat I have been unreliably informed that refreshments will be served by the Rector Geoffrey who will be wearing a rather dashing pin fore.
On yet another and very special note Jess and Jack who were married at All Saints on the 28th May last year with their Wedding Breakfast being held at Gaynes Park are expecting their first child in 3 weeks time - I will keep you informed.

"Dave we are over-looking the Med, sipping much alcohol (although no red wine you will be disgusted to know) and the only thing more beautiful than the Amalfi coast are the pictures that you took of my lovely wife and I. We are having a fantastic time but cannot wait to invite you around for a couple of glasses of red and a takeaway. We are thrilled with what you have done for us. Lots of love Kwan and Lucy (and Barkley and Triple)" (Wedding-Gaynes Park, Epping)
"Dave, I got my first chance to look at the photos properly yesterday, as the computer we found on our honeymoon was not very good. The photos are brilliant – especially the ones in the garden and by the tree at Gaynes Park and the balloon photo too. Kind regards Beatrice" (Wedding - Gaynes Park, Epping)
"We were amazed to hear from Dave the day after our wedding who told us our photos were on the internet, ready to look at. We were delighted with them, however we then had the near-impossible task of whittling them down for our album! Dave was fantastic on the day, talking with all the guests and making sure everybody felt at ease. Some wedding photographers command so much time; Dave works around you and ensures everybody has fun. He also gave us a pre-wedding shoot a few months before the big day, which was the perfect opportunity to loosen up, get used to having out photos taken by him, and get to know each other better". - Sarah and Geoff (Wedding Gaynes Park - Published in Herts and Beds Your Wedding Magazine

It was great to head off on honeymoon after already viewing our professional photos - bet not too many couples can say that! I have had so many people saying to me how wonderful you were on the day - you managed to capture our guests superbly." - Sarah and Geoff (Wedding - Gaynes Park)
